How to Use WAExport for WhatsApp Chat Export
Install the extension, choose a WhatsApp Web conversation and create a local HTML, Excel or CSV archive in four steps.
- Step 1
Install and pin the extension
After adding WAExport from the Chrome Web Store, open Chrome's Extensions menu and pin WAExport so it stays visible in the toolbar.

Open WhatsApp Web and WAExport
Go to web.whatsapp.com, sign in, wait for your conversations to load and click the pinned WAExport icon to open the export panel.

Choose the chat export settings
Select the conversation, choose HTML, Excel or CSV, set the start and end dates, and decide whether supported photos, videos and files should be included.
- Step 4
Export and check the archive
Choose an available export mode, click Export Chat and keep all generated files together. Open the result locally and confirm the expected messages and media are present.
An exported HTML, Excel or CSV file is an archive for reading or analysis. It cannot be imported back into WhatsApp as a restored conversation.
